As Satoru is being taken away by the police, he sees the “man with the hat” standing among a crowd of onlookers. “It can’t end here. There’s something I still have to do.” His prayer calls forth a miracle… …because the next thing Satoru knows, he’s back at the science center. It’s his third time in 1988, four days before X-day, and Hinazuki is safe and sound at Satoru’s side. Satoru is filled with new determination as he vows that there won’t be any regrets this time. After getting through X-day and following his birthday party the next day, Satoru heads for Yuuki’s house. In order to create an alibi for his friend, Satoru throws a rock and calls the police. But then he goes on to ambush Hinazuki’s mother on her way back home. However, he’s rebuked by Kenya, who has been keeping a close eye on his friend for the past few days after noticing his extreme behavior. Kenya’s words serve as a wake-up call to Satoru, who moves on to another plan, asking Hinazuki, “Can I abduct you right now?” Kenya goes along with it, since the idea is to have Hinazuki take shelter in a place where the kidnapper can’t reach her. The two boys lead her to an abandoned bus in the courtyard of the elementary school next to theirs and so begin Hinazuki’s days of hiding out. But when she’s alone one night, an unexpected visitor comes on board…
